Default Brought 3 orphans home

My brother bought a house and the person he bought it from left three machines behind.

Singer Touch and Sew(might be Touch and Throw)in a cabinet, green and white Janome New Home 534 in a case and a pink and white Kenmore 605 in a cabinet.

I spent a few hours cleaning and oiling.

The Janome sews well. So does the Kenmore, but it's noisy, the feed dogs are stuck so they can't be lowered and the light needs rewiring.

All I could do with the Singer is clean it up a bit. The foot controller has come apart at the hinges. Don't believe I can fix it so not going to put any more time into that one. It did come with everything but the kitchen sink though.

The Kenmore and Janome didn't have bobbin cases or attachments so I robbed the bobbin case from my thread eating White 1620. I'm going to leave it in the Kenmore which will be set up in the living room for my daughter.

Good grief I have 8 sewing machines now!

I have too many sewing machines but I just couldn't bear to see these at the dump or out in the rain.

Maybe I'll give one to my Mom so she'll have a spare and one to my daughter.

Or even one to my son. He wants to make tactical clothing....

Fixed controller on the Singer. It was an assembly issue. Filed contacts-yay power!

Opened it up to clean it-bummer, broken gears....

It came with everything.

Might be worth it to replace them...

I was going to post on your thread but mine isn't nearly as nice as yours.

No attachments, no cabinet and a crummy looking case.

It looks good and sews good though.

Maybe I can paint the case. Hmmm.....

Sweetie foot pedals for Singers are quite easy to find and at pretty good prices. My son had one sent to me through Craigslist in NW Ohio- pedal + s/h $11.50 way cheaper than gas for the 80 mile round trip to Springfield for one. . PS--You can find cases also. : )

The case is functional and strong. Just not very attractive. The latches and whatnot are rusty.

I was able to fix the controller. I just had to figure out how to put it back together. It was pulled apart and hanging open off the hinges.
