It's a 1950s Free Westinghouse, which is all metal parts and this one looks like very good condition.

Not really....the 15 clones were made in Japan, although some of the American companies also kind of copied the 15 because it is overall a great machine, and when Japan started making and sending them to the US, other companies wanted to compete.

This is identical to the one my grandmother used for her tailoring business that she had in her home. She was a magnificent seamstress and many used her on a regular basis both for new designs as well as alterations of existent clothes. As a matter of fact I used this as I learned how to operate a sewing machine at a very early age. At present, my mother has it. I hope that in time, it will be passed down to me. The value of this machine is that it had all stable metal parts. It could easily be worked on and was reliable under all conditions. I just wish manufacturers would put the same types of machine on the market today. This is a one of a lifetime find. Congratulations!
