I just bought a Free Treadle from Grand Junction Colorado And would greatly appreciate any info you give me. I hear 1902 was when most were built?! 🤠

There were a variety of "Free" machines over many years. Some links that mention "Free Sewing Machine Company" are
http://needlebar.org/nbwiki/index.php/Illinois
http://needlebar.org/main/makers/usa/free/index.html
http://www.needlebar.org/nbwiki/inde...achine_Company
http://ismacs.net/free/home.html

As seen in the second link, there were many machines that were actually made by "Free" but had other names on the machine.

We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button.

I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of quilt block ID?

Welcome packedfunk.

I bet yours is a vibrating shuttle like mine with the rotoscillo movemnt underneath. Smooth machines. and beautiful. Mine has the Westinghouse motor so it got a different name and slightly different body than the treadle.

Here are my other two. I haven't dated them. My GF would be upset, but they are much older than she is.

I like the cabinet that the right one is in. The top folds back to give you space benind the machine. Of course, you can't open it right next to the wall.
