Default Featherweight clone?

http://lansing.craigslist.org/hsh/3917371818.html

A very interesting posting on CL, it looks like a featherweight with matching case...but no Singer logo and manual says "The Quilter Portable 1 Lightweight Sewing machine" Seller is very emphatic that "It is not a Singer"...then it is not worth $175 (is my thought) lol

It looks like a FW to me along with the case. someone could have gotten a manual thinking that it was right. I would not pay the 175 tho. I would talk them down to may be 125.

If you can look at it it would have simanco stamped on the bottom and also a serial # stamped on a retanguler piece under the machine on one end. Then it would be for sure a singer even if the seller says no. I wouldn't argue, but buy as cheap as can and have many happy hours sewing with it.

It is an Alphasew PFW221, made in China Featherweight "replica". I probably wouldn't pay near-Featherweight prices for one.

Not worth bringing home. I paid $300 for that opinion. Finally gave it to my brother to sell at the flea market. Think he got $60. It never sewed straight, was noisy, and the tension assembly actually fell out of the machine.
