Default Featherweight not stitching

Does anyone have any ideas? I had my featherweight cleaned and renovated and it left a stitch on the sample when I picked it up. I put in a titanium 75/11 needle and tried to sew. The bottom thread isn't getting caught up in a stitch. What have I done wrong, or what should I do?

Check the needle against the one that was in the machine. It doesn't sound like the needle is long enough?

Doesn't the needle flat side go towards the left and thread left to right? Or maybe visa, versa?

Yes you're right. Flat side of needle goes towards the left and thread is right to left. Heres A PHOTOGRAPHIC DIAGRAM .

Re-thread the machine, thread from inside to outside. Check your bobbin area, check to see if the "finger" of the bobbin is in the correct space, should be between the 2 little "thingys" that are attached to the needle plate, is the area clean?? Good luck there are pictures on this site that will help you.

Thanks for so much help. First, I'll check. I probably inserted the needle with flat side facing back. I'll let you know.
