Fleetwood zig zag and emdeko
I'm not sure of the model number but the appearance is a lot like this one on ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Delu...item43e21ebc78
but it has a compartment on top between the left end and center for cams. I'm wondering which cams it takes? if I search for fleetwood cams are there more than one like the Singers? I can look closer but I figured I'd go back later if I were still interested. I shied away today partly because it seems to be left homing which I dont't think is desirable for quilting :-( just looked like a cool machine and was in a base so wouldn't require finding cabinet space. there was also an emdeko? think that's how it's spelled and it looks to be set for L-C-R so not lefthoming thank goodness. it also takes cams but none were with it. I think this one looks like another machine that was on ebay a while back and the cams were blue I think it looks like this one or very similar and seems like the lid to the cam dept is a bit bigger than the fleetwood's..

both look like decent machines but I'm kinda tired of getting machines then not being able to find cams (though luckily I've managed some miracles thanks to help!)I'd like to see if I can locate cams before deciding whether or not to buy these

The issue with cams for Japanese machines is that there are so many different styles of cams and most often there are no markings on the cam boxes to identify which machine they go to. What I do is use a google image search for the particular machine to see if I can find a pic that shows the machine with its cams so I know which ones to look for. Sometimes a machine will come with a cam in it so you know what to look for, but it doesn't happen often. Otherwise, it's a crap shoot of buying cam sets until you get the right ones. Many of us have orphan cam sets because of buying them like this.
