I tried solder but was not strong enough. Brazing would be better but then the clearance for the lever would be off. To thick to fit in the slot on the face plate and the needle bar.

if we are in a position where you are sending me something else... shoot me the lever, we can TIG it and make the repair mostly invisible. Looks like you really don't need it now with your cool replacement, but it would be fun to try and fix the original.
