Default Godzilla Featherweight

I watched an auction in which there was a 1940 Featherweight with the crinkle finish that was called a Godzilla. It sold for $2025.00! Is this a rare Featherweight? I had never seen one with the crinkle finish.

Yes, quite rare. While an unknown amount were made according to https://singer-featherweight.com/blo...therweight-221
Featherweight historians, JJ & Leo from The Featherweight 221 Factory, have only logged 43 known Wrinkle Featherweights in all their years of keeping records. They both fully acknowledge that more Wrinkles were made, but how many — no one knows exactly.
If you read the link above it says that they sold one February 26, 2015 for $4,275.00.

wow, at that price, I'd have been sorely tempted to bid! But that is because I've seen them go for the $4,000 range, so $2,000 is quite a deal.

Will counterfeits follow? Maybe I should learn the process... Just kidding.
