Default Got 3 more machines today

Hubby surprised me today by bringing home 2 Treadle machines and a toy one! Not sure what kind the toy one is there are no markings or lettering anywhere on it but it sure is cute! 1 treadle is a Free and one is The Elgin. The lady called where he bought it and it is suppose to have the attachments with The Elgin . We also got a box of attachments for the Free too. He is going to go back up and get the attachment box next time he heads up that way probably Monday, maybe tomorrow.

That free cabinet is beautiful! Hubby deserves a special dinner I'd say.

So, how close in production are your two machines? I would expect Free used the same number no mater what name they put on the machine.

The good part, I believe they take Singer type shuttles and needles.

While the exterior of my Free cabinet is different, the interior is the same. And I love how the lift support has decals on it too.

Beautiful machines, wow. I've always really liked that Free design with the Peacocks. It's great when you live with an enabler, especially one with great taste.

That Free is great all the way around. Great cabinet that will fit well in any setting and the Peacock design is one of the stand out decal designs for any brand.
The Elgin is nice too. Nice mission style cabinet on that one.
I like the toy too. Your husband has a great eye.

Default Hubby got the attachments for The Elgin and more!

Not only did hubby get the attachment box for The Elgin today but they also had the manual, the contract from the company and the original receipt where they financed the machine from the bank in 1916! I'm so excited beyond belief to have all this with it! When we get our living room done the way we want we will have the machines and above them on the wall framed will be the documents!

That is really neat. I was wondering what company sold The Elgin, as Free made machines under that "badge" for quite a while. Now you'll need to get an Elgin Rotary and a Free Rotary so you can have two matched sets LOL!!

They seem to enjoy being in rather large "herds" - at least that is my excuse. Like strays, once a few find a good home at your place, they send out the message and pretty soon machines just seem to pop up no matter where you are, or if you are looking or not.
