HHHHMMMM Wilbur hasn't discovered the drawers yet. I keep a close eye on him in my shop. He does not get the run of the place. Oiling the rocking horse was at his home. He doesn't know about attachments yet. He is way intrigued by sewing machines themselves. Just give him a sewing machine and a screwdriver and he is a happy little Bob the Builder. Junk machines do come in handy. I should fix him up with a bottle of oil to go with that junk SM and screwdriver. I hope a good chunk of his inheritance will be to know how to actually use and maintain a SM & maybe much much more!

I about swallowed my gum on this one. I recently seen this cabinet w/o machine for $500 in an antique shop. Apparently no $9500 worth the memories to drain some ones pocketbook

I looked at a few and the one in Atlanta that is the Household cracked me up.. I had one and just sold it in VA beach for $75 .. It did look much better though and had all the attachments.. I hated getting rid of it because it would sew just about anything short of a car bumper..lol But that thing weighed 55 lbs and I am getting way to old to be lifting and moving it yet again. It went to a good home to a fireman who sewed equipement bags with it.

IT breaks my heart to see these people selling their "grandma's sewing machines". I never got my grandmothers sewing machine. It was given to the oldest granddaughter who sold it. But I do have my aunts sewing machine and i will always treasure it. I am the only granddaughter that sews a lot.
10000 come on it isn't made of Gold. But I wouldn't mind having that beautiful cabinet.

same here... My uncle "helped" my Grandparents clear out their old house and "that dusty old singer" went to the dump.. My interest in these old machines began with the process of tracking down the same model/year/deals/cabinet as hers was. I have them now. but they will need LOTS of work.
I have bought three machines that the seller claimed were long time family possessions, and i asked each one of them "are you sure you want to part with this? maybe your kids will want it some day" they usually say something like "nahhh, it's not worth enough for them to want it"
Sad
