I volunteer with GPA-MN, strictly retired racers but I love the lurchers, all the sighthounds, well, long nosed beasties in general. My heart & home truly belong to greyhounds.

I would love to find one for my SIL who raises and trains greyhounds. She is quite the thrift store addict and buys anything with a greyhound on it but does not have a Greyhound sewing machine (she has a Viking I fixed up for her). However, I've never seen a Greyhound machine in person or on my local CL.

Cathy,

That is a model 30 just like mine. It would need some fixing and cleaning, but nothing that couldn't be done.

The hardest thing would be the electrical plug in the case, it's an oddity today. I think a more modern 3 wire plug / receptacle could be substituted.

Is your motor like that? I think that's not an original motor. Cute little machine though!

Cathy,
Yep, that's the same motor as mine has. It's a pain in behind cos you have to use a rubber band belt. There is very little adjustment, and I've yet to find a V-belt that fits properly.

I'm Fliggie, I don't post that often, but have been a member for 10 years. Nice to meet you!

Here's a nice one with a Greyhound on it: { http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions...-15306816.html }.
A New Home Rotary in a nice cabinet. Of course it would mean a road trip to 10-O-C .
