Default Help With a Kenmore 158.17741

I'm trying to help a woman (on the other side of the country) with her Kenmore. The needle hits the needle plate on the right side, and I can't see in the photos where the needle position adjustment is. Can anyone help me with that?

Annette, I can't answer your question. However, if I were looking for that information, I'd go to https://groups.io/g/VintageKenmoresSew.

(I've disposed of all my Kenmore machines, but I'm still on the group.)

The good folks at Vintage Kenmores Sew taught me that the adjustment is on the screw on the front of the needle bar, which is an eccentric. So you loosen the nut on the back of the screw, then turn the screw one way or the other until the needle is centered. Good to know!
