I finally got a Featherweight!
I've been wanting one for about 20 years and this weekend I went to a quilter's estate sale and they had two. I picked the prettier one and I think it's a 221.
They told me it worked. I think they're right...but the bobbin case is missing! I almost cried. I'd already paid and brought it home and I feel like a fool for not checking since they told me it worked.
i contacted the seller and she said they'd refund my money if I wanted but she doesn't know where the bobbin case is. She knows her mom was using this machine until right before her death and she saw bobbin cases on eBay for $30.
Ive done enough reading to know I don't want a cheap eBay one...can someone point me in the right direction?

That's disappointing! Don't beat yourself up about not checking it. We all do that sort of thing. You didn't say what you paid but maybe ask for a $30 refund?
I'd love to see photos.

You're better off paying the price of a used original on Ebay, the new ones aren't worth buying any more. The bobbin case may have been in the machine when they set it out and someone stole it. Very common thing to happen now a days sadly.

I just bought some presser feet for my Bernina and an original bobbin case from eBay and got a great deal. They work perfect and now I'm going to order more. Ebay has good stuff, I sell original things there myself, not junk.
