I live near Notre Dame and they no longer throw things away :cry: The students leave it in the dorm room and after they all leave the college collects the items and then has a HUGE yard sale. Granted the money goes to charity, but now they even charge you to get in to look at the items :shock:

Cool idea. Surprising the money goes to charity - what with all the budget cuts schools seem to be taking lately. As long as it was in the housing contract "any left items will be forfeit" it should be good.

It's not a featherweight. But, it is a cool find and you will have some fun fixing her up and using her. there is a group on yahoo that is a board to ask questions about singers. If You want it let me know, I will search it out for you.

OH how beautiful! A wonderful find! I love to dumpster dive in my own dumpster! My friend cleaned his car out, empied the garbage into my dumpster and found some speakers, hooked them up and now has back speakers in his van...I've found things in there too... :-)

:P You found a real Jewel!!! Not a featherweight ,we call her a Ol Picky Mama and they are real Workhorses!!! The serial Number will tell you what she is on model#. Any Ol Singer with the Black and Gold is a real Find and Good/Wonderful!!! I cannot Imagine anyone so stupid as to throw it away!!! Happy Dance!!! :thumbup:
