Default How do I know what I have?

I have a Singer sewing cabinet refinished by my inlays AGES ago. I never thought to look inside to see if there was a machine actually in there until I started hanging out on this board. I opened it today and it's BEAUTIFUL! Where do they put the manufacturing information so that I can research what I have? I looked underneath but didn't see anything. Do I need to get out the flashlight and clean off the dust? Thanks for your help!

put the machine up. dust it off and look right below the singer badge for a long number. or there could be an other tag with a short number under that badge or it could in directly behind. but the same position .

if it a Black machine, all your telling us is that it's singer and in a cabinet, singer made alot of machines in the 160+ yrs

can you post a picture ? or use google and start off using the brand name and color.

Maybe there's a manual in one of the drawers and that will tell you what it is. Otherwise all the places mentioned above are where to look. The odds are very good that the machine is a real keeper so let us know what you find out.

If it's a Singer this should tell you what model and when it was authorized to be built.

Pictures here will at least get you the model #. Besides, we like pictures.

Hey! We Want Pictures And Details.

We could start a pool I suppose. She said Beautiful, I'm guessing a Red Eye

Could easily be a 15 pheasant or a VS2 with floral decals.

I second the call for pictures

Very nice! Singer 66 Red Eye decals, missing a slide plate--easy to find but check the drawers first! Does the wheel turn?
