Steve, you have a gift for cleaning and polishing... You are an inspiration to me (with my old F & R!) I have a very busy week, but I look forward to being able to polish 'er up very soon. Your photos give me hope that I can bring new life to this very rusty stitcher... Seeing a pristine F&R on Muv's video was depressing. 'Twas in such pristine condition... but to see your photos, where you bring corroded bits back to life.... ahhh, inspiring!

Steve,
Your Howe C is amazing. If only these old machines could talk to us, what a history we could gather!
I worked at the Technical Library at Kennedy Space Center and stood on the steps of the KSC Headquarters Building and watched the first Apollo/Saturn V launch after the tragedy on the launch pad in 1967. Those buildings and launch pads would sure talk to you, literally. The ocean breezes whistled through the launch pads and all the launch structures. It was an exciting time for America! I think I'd get the same vibe from a machine such as your Howe C as well as the Howe A and B you have!
Neat machines. Congratulations!

Steve,
I was standing on the space center property, somewhere pretty close when Apollo 11 was launched! WOW! An awesome sight! And, then, when Apollo 13 was almost lost -- that was a time that reinforced my faith in human nature! I think, if we'd lost the 13 astronauts, that would have dealt a death blow to the space program! Your Howe machines are fantastic! I'm waiting for my cousin to send me a photo of my great-grandmother's treadle machine -- it's hers, but she wants to restore/rejuvenate it and get it in working condition! Well, after looking at your machines, I have no doubt that it can be done! My son and I are going to help her all we can!
