Default JC Penney's Penncrest 1000

I picked up this machine at an auction this weekend. Very clean machine. Has no bobbin. I cannot find anything about it. Does anyone have any information they could share with me? Does have a serial number, model 1000, and made in Japan. Super heavy! She is bone dry of oil, so I'll work on that today! Would appreciate any info on this machine!

Tilt the head in it's base and you may be able to see a plate like this. Also another number may be close by that starts with J. Anyway lots of Japanese machines have this kind of marking. Your serial number may be a clue. but not all records are good. Very sleek front .

Serial numbers on Japanese machines are basically useless as there are no records to search for any info. Almost all Japanese machines of this time use a 15 class bobbin and regular 15x1 needles. There may be a JA number under the machine somewhere, that can be a clue to who built it but that's about as much info as can be had.

I have a machine that looks like this except mine has a little door in the center of the top front that holds the cams. I bought it in about 1965 or 1966 at Pennys.

What kind of bobbin does it take? Can you post a photo?
