Default White Sewing machine rescue from Goodwill

I know I paid to much(59.99 with senior discount 45.00) but I couldn't leave her there(Goodwill). Her shape was so different and her cabinet so art deco. The manual says White Rotary Model Number 43. Serial # 77- 232317. Unfortunately the needle bar is broken and I don't know if that can be replaced. The wiring looks great. I haven't plugged her in yet as I can't her into the house alone. Everything moves freely.
I do love her cabinet even though it does need some work.

Wow! I love that machine and it would have come home with me too. I really like the White brand.

OMG -- my Mom had that model machine!! She had a cabinet for it, the foot pedal attached to the inside right and there was a lever that allowed me to use my knee to run it. I made tons of clothes on it starting in 4th grade. When I was in college, she won a new home and old faithful went by the wayside. Don't remember what happened to it. If you can get it fixed it does a wonderful stitch.

The White that was left in the house my parents bought was that same machine, but a different cabinet. My mother had her Singer 15 and a Futura II 920, so she sold the White. But I made some clothes on it.

Someone offered me a green White in a cabinet for $10. I might see ifthey still have it. I didn't need it, but maybe someone here would want the machine itself and I could keep the cabinet.

GheckoAZ,

Nice machine and cabinet. The needle bar isn't broken. It's only missing the needle clamp and screw. Try your LSMG or Thayer Rags parts, he's a member here { http://thayerrags.com/ }

Thanks everyone. I just went outside to check the machine out again as per Joe's comment. I do have a needle clamp but it won't hold the needle in the bar so I need to check out my other White to see if anything else may be missing.
Much to my surprise in the light of day I realized that the machine is GREEN. A very dark green but definitely green.
To me the cabinet and the color make her worth to money I spent.
Her name will be Veronica after Veronica Lake

Joe,
This is what I thought was the needle clamp but the more I look at it there isn't a little do-hickey on the side for the thread to go through above the needle. And it has another screw hole.
Also the manual I have is for a White 43 and by the serial number I beleive it is a White 77.
