Default Locked FW case - which way does left lock need to turn?

Somehow my Featheweight case managed to get into a locked state, with both keys inside! I watched a video about the lock at singer-featherweight.com (AKA The Featherweight Shop) and they showed unlocking the right latch by rotating the key a full turn clockwise. Can anybody tell me whether in their case the left latch also needs to be the key be rotated *clockwise* to unlock?

Using dental tools as a substitute for a key, I've managed to get the right latch open, but the left latch has been a bear to work with. Initially, it hard to get anything to rotate. After some oiling and time, I've got the lock mechanism rotating (with some resistance), but the latch mechanism (round button) never seems willing to budge the tiniest bit. If any one has ideas of what more to try, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks for your help!

Good luck on getting the case open. My Featherweight has only one latch-it is a white featherweight.
