Mine sews like a dream Great find and enjoy!!!! Yours should have a screw under it to drop the feed dogs for free motion. Check your manual if you have one if not go to the singer site and down load it.

How do you find the model. Mine was made in 1919 by the serial number but I can't figure out the model. Also cabinet is different from all the pictures I have seen, my has 3 drawers on each side. (DH is in process of stripping the paint)
