the older hemmers were mostly bed mount, so you did use your regular foot with it.
With this style with the separate clamp, I would figure it could be mounted on a wide range of machines as you can rotate both the hemmer and the clamp to get it lined up correctly.
At least on this board - no one is going to say "wow! it's 40 years old!"

I may have more attachments to send to CA. Was looking for something else and spotted this - I ended up with some of those hemmers with the "button" on them and had no idea what they were for. Unfortunately they did not come with the holder. But even if they aren't for a Singer 12, at least now I know how they mount and what to look for.

Yes, there are some that are for attaching binding. In the top picture, the one in the front is a binder. It's got two tabs for folding top and bottom, I instead of one for hemming. Most sets will have 3 or 4 hemmers and a binder.

That's the one I had figured to be the binder. I was just looking at attachment sites, and saw one being used to attach binding.
