A secondhand foot controller and power cord alone are worth twice that.
I like those second hand foot controllers and power cords when they are in tact. I like it even better when I get the machine to work. Right now I have a bunch of cheap no good derelicts from ShopGoodwill. They sit around doing nothing, wanting money thrown at them and they smell like old sewing machines in need of a bath.

Such a shame when they get separated - poor little orphans. I have a several machines that need some form of drive.
Empty treadle cabinets seem more common here, so I buy when they're cheap enough. Still have another three that need cabinets.

Lately I've been getting them and they need a lot of work. I got one last night. It is a 128 in need of a foot control I think it is going to get a shiny new hand crank!

Don't know. I've been avoiding putting anything like that near my machines, particularly after someone (I think it was Joe) told us how poorly they fit.

I found that when i took the box of "parts" for those Chinese hand cranks, separated out the parts with casting flaws, matched up the ones that most closely fit, did some mild sanding/filing to cleanup mating faces, they work fine(ish)

it is worth the price to get a real original. really really.

You have to luck out and find one. fleabay, sometimes other ways. I have one that came with a 28 in a bent wood. Best deal I've found in a while, other than the 222.

The easiest way for me to tell a 99 from a 66 assuming that the photo is a willing helper:
The motor. If there's about an inch poking out to the left of the pillar, it's a 99. If it's only a smidge, it's a 66.
