My $25 Singer 301
We were dropping off some things at the Hillside Christian Ministries Thrift Store and I decided to go inside an wander around a bit. I spotted this Singer 301 and considered purchasing it. But I told myself that I already had a mocha and a black one and I simply didn't need another one so I passed on it. As we were driving home I begin to think that it sure was a nice looking 301 with a manual, box of attachments and a button hole maker. The more I thought about it the more I knew that I should go back and get it. By this time the store had closed. The next morning I sent my DH to see if they still had it and if so I would like to have it. Well, as luck would have it, it was still there so now I own it. This one is tan in color so now I guess I have all the colors that a 301 came in. She was pretty dry and totally full of fuzz and lint but after cleaning her up, oiling and greasing and cleaning out all of the lint she runs like a dream. I think my $25 was well invested. Now my question, is this button hole one that was made for a slant needle machine.

That is a slant buttonholer - can tell that from looking at it. Normally the burgundy (or pink) containers hold the slant, and the green hold the straight - unless someone switched them around.
That is a very sweet deal you got - I'm looking for a short bed two toned 301. I have a long bed mocha and a long bed black.
