So do I. Definitely a Singer 12, with boat shuttle. Some of the bobbin winder looks missing.

manicmike is correct; some of the bobbin winder is missing. Since Glen had no idea what the value of this machine could actually be, I think he made a wise decision to bring it home. If I ever find the bobbin winder parts, perhaps it will sew again some day. If not, I'll enjoy it for its looks:-) Thanks again to everyone that provided information.
