Default Needles and electrical parts for an Eldredge Rotary sewing machine

Hello,

I am in the process of cleaning and oiling an Eldredge Rotary sewing machine I picked up at a thrift store.

I have some questions that I hope someone can answer for me:

1) Does anyone know of a source where I can find National 20x1 sewing machine needles? (The two leads I had been given for these needles are "out of stock". )

2) Does anyone know of source for vintage sewing machine electrical connectors? (This machine uses a Necchi foot controller that has a rounded plug with two plugs to connected the controller to the machine. The wiring is frayed and a looming safety hazard. I would like to re-wire, at this point, without this round connector I am dead in the water.)

Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Pictures of the machine and the connector are attached to this message..

Thank you.

Why can't you re-use that electrical connector?

Take a good close look at your connector. You should be able to take it apart and replace the bad wire.

That connector unscrews (threaded area is where the knurled place & the smooth place meet)....& there are screws inside to connect your wires to.

This is the best buy I've found lately for needles for needles that will fit your machine http://www.ebay.com/itm/16-vtg-Sewin...item23325afd19 They're size 1...pretty close to a modern size 14. I've bought these and some for a long shuttle National from this seller. The needles were good...& they were shipped quickly

Another option to the "DD" needles are "Boye 21" and "20x1". Nice looking Eldredge

path49 (and Rodney): I took your suggestion and was able to unscrew the connector. Thank you.

Jlhmnj: This Eldredge looked pretty handsome in the thrift store display case. It should look even better after I polish the metal and clean up that crinkly finish. Thank you for the compliment.
