Hi Laurie! Congrats on your new baby! I got a 1947 FW yesterday too and was thrilled to see how nice and shiny she was. Mine also did not have the manual - you can find them on eBay - some are original and some are copies. You will also see adjustor's manuals which are more of a service tech's reference but they look very similar. Mine also needs a new belt which I ordered from sew-classic.com, they have lots of common parts at very reasonable prices.

Congratulations, Laurie! Isn't it exciting?
You can download a manual from ISMACS here: http://www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_...e-manuals.html. The 221K manual is from 1951, so it should match your machine well. If you do a Google search for "featherweight parts", you'll be able to find a number of suppliers.
Good luck; I've found people on this board very friendly, so if you need help, just ask!
