Default Newish Vita HC from India

We bought it from a woman in Leavenworth, Kansas. She is a soldier who was stationed in Afghanistan. They bought the machine 10 years ago to use with local women to teach them to sew. Even thought the American woman was a soldier, she was doing a bit of Peace Corps type outreach. Her unit was teaching sewing, agriculture, beekeeping and some other skills to the locals. How cool is that? And now we have her sewing machine to take to schools and show to students. We can tell them that people still use hand cranks and that this one has been actively involved in teaching new skills to people in a harsh environment. Hand crank was bent and the "bentwood" cardstock case had holes punched through it, but it stitches now.

vita has a facebook page with new ones, but not quite like this. and not extremely helpful. This one has many similarities to a 15 It has reverse,

What a great story! And what a unique machine, if only for the story! Very cool.
