Or dumb?:> But, I couldn't rationalize it in my mind to pay someone $150-$200 when I could do it for $2. The techs on the vintage Bernina yahoo group helped me through it.

I'd keel over for either of those colors. Yes, I'm superficially enchanted by colors & decals but those are seriously cool.

I kick myself but there was a neon green one for sale on ebay with no attachments case or foot control and it was as-is. It went for much higher than I could rationalize. But, it's the one that got away:<

Candace - I have a machine like the one on the left side.

I am missing the closing device. Have you ever seen those sold separately?

Nan

Nan, I think they get fragile over time and the rubber belt breaks inside the clasps or degrades. I've never seen them listed for sale. Though, stranger things do come up for sale on ebay:> Many of the cases I see for sale have the locks missing. I would probably just use some kind of tie or ribbon to keep it shut. Is this what you're doing? Once in a while I do see an intact case for sale with the closing device. The case on my yellow one is glued in a few places as the shipper did a very poor packing job and it came broken out in the corner:< But, it's useable and does have it's locking device.

I have 2 vintage Berninas, a 930 and 1031. Some of the best electric machines I've ever owned. I've always wondered about the Nova 900, that neon green is a bit too bright.

There's a red one listed on ebay right now!
