I think I read somewhere that they only made the crinkle finish for the military during world war II.

Some of the machines are very common, thus collectors will not pay high prices. However, those with state fair badges, the crinkle finish, and some others are harder to come by. If you are a collector, this price is good. I have seen a crinkle fw in person and I think it is a very cute machine. The fw 222 is another machine that will bring in higher prices. Each to their own. For this collector, what we spend on our quilting stuff and fabric stashes would probably have them saying "Oh, for Pete's Sake!"

It looks like an industrial version to me. Think sweat shop............Lol. People are funny! Not even any pretty gold filigree work on it - that y'all would be afraid to mess up. Not a connoisseur here. The only one I want or need is the one I have. Let 'em bid their fool heads off. hahahhaha

I can't believe it started at $50 and has 16 bids. Sounds like a bidding war to me. Hope the winner is happy with their purchase cause IMHO they're overspending.

I became more interested in the Singer 99Ks that were there, as I just got one...I'm still trying to decide if I want to keep it. I'm thinking I will...
