Smile as OLD as me

Was not planning to buy but could not pass up. 1950 Singer 66 series in original cabinet for $25 and it works. I went into the local Re-Store to look for a used vanity and this was sitting there. It is dirty, no slide plate and a little rust but no problems. I asked if it could be plugged in and the light came on and the store worker just reached underneath and pushed the knee bar and she/he (sewing machine) just hummed. YIPPEE I said and sold. Today I will do a little cleaning on it. I did watch Muvs videos on how to clean. This my first thread I posted and the second time I am writing this. lost the first when I tried to attach pictures. so I am going to do them separately.

Oh no!! You've caught the disease!! Welcome to sick bay...... we don't really want a cure.... just stories about finding great old machines.

I don't have one from my birthyear yet.... keep looking and buying but I've not found one yet. So, Congrats on your find. She's very pretty..... hardly any wear.

Sew-Classic carries the slide plate. They install from the needle side. You found a beauty!

You found a really nice machine. I use my 66 all the time, and love her. She hums for me.
