No it's not, you're a terrible person!

It's a very very cool pic and even better that they're your relatives. Love that VS2.

Very cool pic! I noticed one of the machines is facing the other way too. I can't tell if it's the front or back of the machine facing us though.

I agree, the dresses do seem more from that era style.

I think this photo is earlier than 1930. I have many old photos that my mother -- a true camera bug! -- took and by 1930, women's clothes and hairstyles had changed a lot -- from the bobbed hair of the 1920s and the flapper look. Of course, it also depends on the location...as in where these women lived. But I'd guess this photo is earlier than even 1920, perhaps as earlier as 1915.

I don't think it is... I think it might be an IF machine (predecessor to the 15) - We can see the badge on the pillar, so we're looking at the front of it... no shovel head inspection plate and no tensioner... plus the nose looks more bell shaped than the VS machines,... like the 15s.

If it's the left machine you're not sure of, it's facing us. Badge on the pillar.

I look so much like the lady on the far right that it's freaking me out! I learned last year that I have German ancestors. Do you know her name? Perhaps I can link her to my tree....I realize it's a long shot. :-)

Tammi,

I think you are right. I couldn't see the right side of the picture clearly on my small tablet.

I am a little bit astonished about the great interest in this old picture!!! So we thought once again when this picture may be taken. we think it must be a little bit earlier, about 1915 perhaps...
The second lady from the left is the sister of the grandfather of my husband and his grandfather was born in 1887. As we remember is his sister Paula 2 or 3 years older!!! The names of the other women are unknown, the tayloring was located in Tessin, that's a little town near Rostock / Mecklenburg / Germany!!
And as you all are so interested in the sewing machines I tried to "blow up" the picture to show a close up of the machines!!! I hope there will be a little bit more to detect!!

It's the machine on the right side

And the one on the left side, I think you look on it from the side where you sit down to sew!!!
