This weekend I went shopping to the thrift stores and foud a old Singer sewing machine...was soooo happy as I have been looking for one for a while. Only paid $69.00 for it. It is one that was in a cabnet so I will have to make one for it. I don't know how old it is but it has a motor on the back of it and that funky metal light that hangs on the back. It is in very good conditon and sews really nice. Does anyone know how old this machine is? Also on my shopping trip I purchased 8 quilting books and found some fabric of one to 3 yard pieces.

My mother had a Singer with the light on the back, she worn it out sewing. Her's was I think a early 1950's. Not for sure, but may give you a starting point for finding year made.
Great find.

Do you have photos Deborah? Can you post the serial number of the machine? :)

Congrats on getting what you've been wanting! Can't wait to see it! :)

Thanks Deborah! She's pretty! :) I can't tell...is the serial number plate missing on the front of the machine by the post?

My guess, before Billy comes and tells us what it is for sure, is that it's a Model 15-99(?)
