It is a 201-3 then! Good call on the mirror. A 201-3 has a belted motor, light on the back and round stitch regulator. Great machine. 201-2 has the light on the front and a potted gear driven motor.

What Pat said....

I have a 201-3 at home just like her. I love her. She puts me in my place if she is feeling neglected in anyway. Get her...

Cool blue and yellow! I'm going with the consensus for a 201 on the Singer, straighter angles on the machine. :) http://vssmb.blogspot.com/search/label/identifying

Both very cool. I love auctions. I don't get much I bid on just because I think I'm the thriftiest person alive, but it is an adrenaline rush. Good luck!

Ha, I see Dawn beat me to it with the link. :)

I'd get them both if I had a chance. The one looks like a knock off of the German Dressmaker that I have in my closet. It is kind of green, not blue or yellow. You had a better picture in the first set. All anyone had to do was to slide the blue line at the bottom of your post and could see the machine better.

the singer looks exactly like the 99k that i have even looks like the same cabinet as i have. i payed $50 for mine but i think they can go for a bit more than that if they have all the attachments around $100 or so

If I were a betting woman I'd say it's a 201-3. That buttonhole case would fill up the entire space on a 99 (okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit but they are smaller machines, aren't they?). That's a great machine and if the motor ever goes, they are very easy to replace, unlike a potted motor.

Hi Joann, the black Singer is a 201-3, as evidenced by the body style and the fact that the light is on the non-user side. As you may know, the 201-3 is not so common here in the 'States (if that's where you are) and is desirable because it is easily converted to treadle.

The black one looks just like the 66- that I just bought for $20.
Same cabinet and all. The cabinet is a #72 (says walnut on ad)
but I was told it was cherry.

(((sigh))) I had my heart set on the blue and yellow one, because I already have 4 black machines but y'all have just about talked me into the black one...or maybe the other one....or maybe both of them!!! LOL

...just my luck they will both go over what I am willing to spend on them!
