Well that's a little misleading isn't it?
Hope it's really in Sedona.

If it's not listed as pickup allowed in the auction, be very prepared to battle. Most sellers don't allow local pick up. These questions are typically supposed to be asked before the auction is bid on...you will likely have to argue with ebay. Though, you shouldn't have any problems getting out of it as the minute the ebay rep sees the shipping costs.

Got an email back. She is in Sedona right now. I can pick up somewhere in a public place (which is fine with me), but when I emailed her back and asked her to adjust the price so I can pay, I didn't get any response.

IMHO with a large item like that, and the shipping fee over $120, the seller should have expected only a pickup. I wonder if that includes a huge "handling fee"?
That's likely why there were no other bidders. In any case, that's a steal for $14.99!!!

Yeah, I'm running into problems. She's busy on weekends (knows I can't come on week days), she wants me to pay sales tax (what?) and she wants me to pay her directly without going through Ebay . . . a definite can't do.

At this point, I'm tempted to take a vacation day and go get the table, just so this aution doesn't fall through.

I think she's trying to back out.

I just won a FW table and it came for NY with shipping at $60.00.

To go through ebay she'd have to charge the shipping costs per the auction, as it's all done automatically via ebay and paypal. And paying sales tax is not uncommon at all, though that wasn't specified in the auction. I would just tell her you'd pay her cash when you pick it up. Honestly, did you expect the seller to be good with this? I would never expect to be able to pick up the item without asking first and getting it in writing. Especially from a shady listing to begin with... Shady to me is trouble and I steer clear.

They can adjust the shipping costs on EBay, I have had sellers do that for me when I bought multiple items. I also bid on a Featherweight and picked it up locally and the seller didn't charge the shipping fees. He just adjusted it on EBay. I would go and pick it up but insist on a receipt for your payment.

True, but that's if the seller wants to do this. This seller for sure doesn't! Her planned profit was coming from trying to avoid ebay fees. I would have reported the auction to ebay.
