3/4 Size Portable Case Dimensions

Do all Singer 3/4 size portable cases have the same size opening for the machine, and the same distance between the mounting hinges? Specifically, would a 99K fit into a bentwood base that a 128 came in?

Logically, I would that think that "3/4 size" would be universal despite the model number, but I want to be sure.

Thanks.

Janey and John may have this answer.

I have a 128 from 1923 in a bentwood case, and I have seen an older spoke wheel 99 in a bentwood case. Singer was very good at tooling up once, and using that application across many models.
I think it is likely they have the same hinge spacing, and await the definitive answer. (I'm not home or I'd measure my 128 and 99 and report back.)

I do not have a 128, but I believe the hinge spacing is the same, it would be the depth of the case that may be different.

...

While the beds and hinge spacing are the same for the 28/128 and 99, the 99 will not fit in a 28/128 base if that is the original base. The 28 or 128 will fit in an original 99 case. I'm thinking that a modern case is deeper and would take either.

Friar_Tuck is correct the depth of the case is different. The 99 being the taller one and the 128 is shorter.

I was thinking someone recently had a case that had a hole cut out of the base so the machine would fit. I don't remember who or what machine. I found it -- https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...s-t303598.html it was Friar_Tuck's 185 which is a modernized 99.

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.
