Thanks, I just looked at the wiring for the 301 that one is ok. I have one 15-91 that we are concerned about, the one from the same guy we bought the 301 from (he insisted we buy both who knows why?, but I got both for about $120 bucks, so what if I wound up with an extra 15-91?), we trust the wiring on that one. So I'm down to one rewire job from 3!!:)

I have three 15-91's and a class 15 clone...love them, especially for FMQ!

They do work great for FM and they are cheap to buy - easy to repair too. You just have to get the things threaded right - the tension and the needle - once you learn you are good to go.

If anyone is interested, I did some digging around the website Miriam mentioned and it requires 18 Ga SPT1...so now I know and wrote it down for future reference! I don't think I'll keep both 15-91's frankly, that would make 6 sewing machines in 950 sq feet...a bit too crowded, I'm afraid.

I'm looking for a 15-125 but because of weight and shipping costs I have to stay local! I FMq'ed on my 401 for the first time yesterday and I must say, although the 401 is a nice machine, it doesn't FMQ nearly as nicely as the 301. I think the 301 is going to keep creeping up in value as quilters grow to realize that they are sweeeeet machines.

I know they are creeping up in value already. I paid $61 on ebay a year ago and now I get outbid at even more than that. For some reason I feel the need for a second 301..

Oh my...I happened by an estate sale yesterday and picked up my 4th, 301!!! I bought the two-toned one that now rounds out my collection. It will be a gift from hubby under the tree, so no pictures or playing with it until Christmas. But, that's o.k. I have the 3 other ones to keep me company:>

You may have to get one more Candace. There are at least 5 variations that I know of:

Mocha Longbed
Mocha Shortbed
Black Longbed
Black Shortbed
LBOW Shortbed

Note: The Black Shortbed in my photo is wearing a replacement light cover, so it would normally have a black cover on it.

CD in Oklahoma

Yes, you're right, I don't have the black long-bed. But, unless it drops in my lap 4 is enough!! Of course I said that about 3....
