All kids love flashlights and never but them back where they found them and usually with no batts left-- very helpful when they are needed.

you know those kidos well... They really love the little light with the goose neck that fits down inside the machine. The one with the $5 battery...

I think that Princess Auto (our equivalent to HF) has something similar too. I've been meaning to take that knife magnet down anyway. One day my fingers are going to be in the way of a falling knife.

I don't know if I want to service any newer machines anymore, not after that Bernette! ;) Worse yet? I told her it's not worth fixing, so she left it with me. aggghh! I'll salvage the pedal and the bobbin case and try to hide it in the recycle bin or something.

I actually used 3 different magnets the first time I lost mine I used the long bar from HF then a small thin bendable one, then even the mag dish pin holder. Went back to the bar one and was going to sweep the entire room if I had too, as I was turning the bar up I noticed that the screw was on there, but stuck around the edge and the pointy end was ALL that I could see. It was evening and even with the lights on (I even put my new headlamp on) not the best lighting. I'm sure glad DH did not come in.

Another trick I find works ( but only on a good back day) is I lay on the floor, and look "across" it. all the dust bunnies and screws stand out because they're taller. :) On a bad back day, if I'm unfortunate enough to be working on a machine,... I usually say forget it, I'll find it later and rob it from another machine if I need this one done fast. Yes, lots of my machines are waiting for me to find screws just so I could get one that doesn't belong to me off my bench.

What? Where were the magnets? I think I may have left one in that serger I worked on. LOL! I used it while I was working on the thing, and never saw it again. She said the machine works well though, I'm not going to mess with it.

Bandaids, those are another kid favorite. They don't even have to be hurt to need them. ;) We used to just keep the wind up ones around. They like them to a degree, but at least the batteries don't run out.

We thought it was kinda heavy... The Futura table has a hole for the junk right next to where the machine goes. That hole was full of stuff. I think I got big scissors and shower curtain hooks, too. The shower curtain hooks hold stray disks some times.

Well, goodies are always fun ;) Ho many magnets were in there to affect the weight?
This futura table, is it a table named futura, or a table that holds a futura? Cos depending on age, a lot of the futuras wouldn't appreciate those magnets...

The Futura machine was already decapitated. It was just the table. It had to be 10 lbs of magnets.

ArchaicArcane 09-10-2013 01:49 PM

LOL! Maybe the machine said "forget it I'm outta here!" after the 9th pound.

Why the heck would someone want that many magnets in one place?

miriam 09-10-2013 02:06 PM

That lady had it ALL... if you know what I mean.
