Good deal...take it and run...I have 301 and 301A and I use them more then my newer machines...I also do better at FM on them. Make sure has bobbin case...I'm assuming it does if it's sewing.

I have to wait til tomorrow to go back and look at it and test it out!! Ill get pictures!!!
I was thinking about getting a Featherweight 221 but I can always get that for my birthday and get this now!!! |
Waiting to see if you like it! I see that the sewing machine guy that currently has my 15-91 for rewiring has a 301 and a 401 for sale. He takes in older Singers, Kenmore's - just certain machines, repairs/rewires/refurbs them as needed, then resells.
301a tan is listed for $229 (has been rewired) 401a is listed for $249, has original carrying case Compared to other prices I see in my area and knowing that these machines have been serviced and are ready to go - and have a 90 day warranty, I think I will keep my eye on his machines. He said if I find a machine I am interested in, feel free to call him, he can look at them, give an opinion. He let me know that the thing to watch for in the 301s is that they have the bobbin case (those run about $50 otherwise), and also that the rotary hook isn't broken. I had read about the bobbin case elsewhere. Can't wait to see your *new* machine! |
I am headed out to look at this again and the 128 that I posted about. The 301a is at a dealer so it has been serviced and ready to go. Im also looking at getting a 221 so I may get that instead of of the 301. I can't make up my mind:rolleyes:

If you want to do FMQ, then the 301 would be the better machine for you.
