I wonder about the first names on the other machine.... Last week, I saw a sewing machine advertised for sale - it said there were words on the machine but no porn. I guess I should be thankful...

Okay, now you've got me laughing out loud for real. No porn, I should hope not!

LOL. I've never seen a "custom engraved" Singer. Back in the '70s when my mom taught home ec, the guidance department scheduled some of the delinquent guys for home ec, if they were considered too dangerous for the shop classes, haha. Seam rippers were pretty substantial, so that's probably the tool that was used.

Lyncat, I believe that is called karma!! That story is SO fun!! May I share that?! =))

That is funny. Keith had gone down in history or immortality. I learned to sew on one of those machines in 1964 in Illinois. They sure took a licking and kept on ticking. My home economics teacher was a saint. I sure miss her.

I ran across that machine on the shelf the other day. I never did work up the nerve to get a hold of Keith Fowler... or his wife.......

You haven't run out of time. You can still try to reach him. I bet he would get a kick out of it.

I have a 201 that was heavily graffitied. I don't see any last names so I guess the perpetrators will never be caught! *I wonder if a french polish would take these out?

Then had to sew at home because we all ran out of class time to use the stupid Touch and Sew. Those 404 and 401 machines would at least teach you to sew - I Loved the one I had and asked my mom to get one of those - nope she had a FW and that was that... I gave up on Singer sewing machines for years after that. Then I found a 401G in the trash - it was easy to love and no going back. I'm a fan of the 403 especially. That one is very simple and it does what I tell it to do. Bobbins wind just fine - no lost time. I screwed up though - I should have invested money in the thread company - with the T & S you waste so much of it... :D:D:D

this is too funny Miriam!
my SIL was a home ex teacher and she figured out a way to solve that bobbin winding problem... I'll have to ask her to make sure, but I think the transition was between the same two machines and they liked the old ones better too.

Well I do see Brian... JM Paul and I'm sure there are more. If you hit CONTROL + a couple times it blows the pic up. To get it small hit CONTROL - as many times.
