Just as an aside, you might be pleased to know that the 'deep throat' is called a large harp.

I have a Federal that looks very Similar to your BelAire down to the spool pin tilting and all.

What a sexy machine! Very cool!

I'm bumping this back up. Does anybody know where to find a threading guide for this one? I have one of these branded Sewmor and I just can't seem to get it right. I haven't been lucky enough to trip over the right diagram yet.

I'm just guessing, and hopefully someone that has this machine will give you better advice, but I think it would be something like this:
Go through thread guide 1, then down around the tensioner 2. Make sure your thread is through the tension wire loop thing 3, then under the metal bit at the bottom of the uptake 4. Go up through the takeup lever 5 (right to left), then back down through the squiggly wire 6. Behind the above-needle guide 7, through the needle (left to right), and you're done! Previous posts have mentioned that the needle goes in with the flat side to the right. Hopefully someone else can confirm this, or perhaps has an actual diagram. |
looks right to me, Jennifer

I think I had 4 and 5 backwards and I'm going to re-change the needle again tomorrow. I'm not sure how it's in.
She and I have been together all day and we're going to go to bed angry. ;) Thanks for your help Jennifer! |
