Is it the driver? The driver is the part that oscillates the hook. Then there's a long rod, called a shaft.

If I was looking for parts diagrams, I'd type in side-loading oscillating hook system.

Good Luck!

Hmmm just tried that and am not getting much. All in all, I don't need to learn the names of all the parts but it would be more helpful in researching info. I'd love to be able to really get the guts out of the machine. At the end of the shaft there is a cup that holds the hook and it's that cup/shaft part or parts that I would love to be able to remove.

I typed, "oscillating hook drive shaft" and got some great diagrams and part names. Here's a link... https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...ml%3B640%3B360

Nice. Thank you. So it is confirmed then the part I have in question is the "shuttle race FRAME". This is the part that holds all the other bits and in looking at their exploded view the part is secured with a roll pin. I thought as much on the one I have. I'll have to look for a smaller punch and play with it again another day.
