I have this singer sewing machine. Model #009802. Can someone tell me the date of this machine. I thought I knew the date. But after searching, I'm comming up with different dates[ATTACH=CONFIG]550801[/ATTACH]

that style base with the knee bar with the barrel end was produced in the 20's, up to about 1928. At that point Singer changed the wiring and went to the plug in connection at the back of the machine instead of using the chicago plugs.
This is the later style wiring for the knee bar cased machines - uses a bar with a flat end. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psqy27tjmn.jpg also, see that raised plate right below the badge? that is the serial number, there should be letter(s) in front. Make sure you've cleaned it off so you can see all the numbers. |
AA009802 falls in the range of numbers allocated to Model 99 (which yours is) on August 1924 . The next range of numbers allocated for Model 99 was in October, so it's safe to assume it was made fall of 1924

I have one with the same knee bar, it is a 1928 Model 99.
