Here is a larger photo of my machine. My avatar is also a photo of my 201. Yours is a 201. You hit the jackpot with this machine. Enjoy!

With that serial nuumber, she is a 1948 machine. At that young age, she should be ready to go after a cleaning. I hope my 1952 will be, too.

1952 has to be a good year. That is my birth year!!

I would at least get an estimate. My sewing machine mechanic is really good about estimates. I would call and ask. Also some sewing machine mechanics run cleaning and tune-up specials and have coupons in the yellow pages.

I think she would love it if I used her machine! Old, old cabinet with it but I left in attic until I see what I can do with the machine.

Thanks all!

I refurbish the vintage machines from the 1860's to the late 1950's and specialize in the treadles. I charge $65 for the complete Spa treatment + parts and shipping. If you want to know what kind of work I do just ask anyone on our board and they will tell you.

And dont forget to come over to the Vintage Sewing Machine Shop Thread and join in on the conversation, we would love to have you there!!

Hi Billy, I sent you a PM

Thanks to all of you for your help. I have Annie back from the shop and she looked "ok" but purred like a kitten. My husband has to rewire the plug. The repair guys arthritis has kicked in big time and the two screws in there are too small for him to handle right now. My DH didn't think it was clean enough so he took some car paint cleaner to it and my oh my, shines like a new baby's behind!!!!

Nothing beats the new baby behind shine!!!

I got you the link to the free manual for your 201 and you should be good to go!

To me, every machine is worth the effort. I can't identify, but she's pretty!
