It takes a standard 15x1 needle... Pretty machine. :)

Am currently sewing on one. Wonderful stitch and much preferred over new machines. You are going to love sewing on this gem.

Why not just download a free manual? Then you can print it at home. That's what I did. http://www.singerco.com/uploads/down...54a175ca4c.pdf
