Also check for a thread jam in the bobbin area.

thanks sharon. i removed the bobbin plate cover and found so much thread lint in there. but so far no thread jam. it seems like it never have been cleaned since it was bought. it's quite challenging to make the stuck parts move but it's a learning process for me. have not worked on this kind of a machine before.

The only place that I had to place a Singer treadle was in my kitchen alcove where the windows are. What a delight as the sun warmed up the stuck (Most of the stuck). I was surprised!

Vic, Recently had to move same screw. I found Tri-Flow oil plus time and some heat from a hair dryer did the trick for me. Hope this helps.

You mean like the solidified, good knows how old, lint in a 1902 Singer treadle??
