CD did that machine even run?

I wish I still had the pics of my wife's Bernina 930 but they were lost. That machine was so packed with lint, dust, and debris I was amazed it was still sewing.
All yours, even the one CD posted are sanitary compared to what came out of that Bernina.

a professional seamstress/quilter friend told me about her $$$$$ machine burning up when her dust bunny burst into flame during a sewing marathon! Yikes!

Here's one that "Locked up all by itself between uses", but it wasn't from dust bunnies.....

HM maybe that's why ours doesn't work......

I cleaned my 401 with a vacuum. I stuck a nylon knee hose on the end and turned my vacuum on. Sucked a couple little screws and they all stopped at the hose.. I bought a pack of disposable mascara brushes and those work like a charm. If you have any old ones you don't use just wash them really good. The chenille wires work well also. I was fortunate the gal who previously owned my 401 took really good care of it. I saw a photo couple weeks ago of the lady who owned it. She has since passed and they did an album in her legacy obituary. Showed her sitting at "our"401" making drapes. That was the caption under the photo. Her husband got it for her one Christmas. I am fortunate and blessed!

CD are those wasp nests? I bet you freaked when you opened that one up. I would have.

They are Mud Dauber nests. A Mud Dauber (also Dirt Dauber) is a wasp that is very common here in Oklahoma. The female dauber builds these nests with mud in which to lay her eggs. She stocks the sealed nest with spiders, the Mud Dauber’s prey, and lays her eggs in the spider carcasses to supply food for the larva when they hatch. The nests are used year after year if not disturbed. I’ve found their nests in several sewing machines, and I’ve not yet found an active one. The nests crumble easily and just make a big mess.

Mud Daubers aren’t aggressive and very seldom sting humans. Having a wasp around that eats spiders is kind of handy, although it’s a little un-nerving when they hover around you while looking for spiders or mud. Bathing regularly (no mud) and not associating with spiders (no prey) help keep close encounters with Mud Daubers at a minimum......
