I have several quilt shops that I can not keep supplied in Featherweights fast enough. I repaint and service them and they cant keep them on the shelves.

I will say that if you get one use it like you stole it!! They are really wonderful little machines!!

IMO, there would be no point in having one if you weren't going to use it...I don't think they're all that cute!
Straight stitchin' little machines, they are...I don't even look at my Janome anymore for anything other than a blanket stitch or machine quilting something too small for the frame...

I USE my FW. I take it to classes and workshops. It is a wonderful workhorse.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :-D They are great for piecing quilts.
I have also made a corduroy jacket with my featherweight
;was a midwale corduroy and the FW sewed through it with no complaining at all.
I used a size 16/100 needle and the only thing it didn't do was zig zag the raw edges, I used my Bernina for that. I was totally amazed!

N|Hi Grammyp,

I love my FW:
1] It is lightweight and easily fits in a small tote. Easy to take to quilting groups.
2] Other than when I first got it [the timing was off] I can do all the maintenance on my own. there are plenty of places to find the info: the web and the library ... or buy the book.
3] I do display it above my barrister bookcase full of quilts I have made.
4] It makes me feel good and is fun to use.

Charlee dear, I have to disagree mightily with you!!!!!! I think they are the cutest little things around!!
Just like you !! :D
DH loved it when I got it and wanted me to display it. We love antiques and it fits right in with our stuff!
I couldn't believe he would actually think a sewing machine was cute but he does :D

I love their names! Is Celery green? And what does Queen Mother look like? :)

I pictured all my collection on Oct 12. Search for "my singer sewing machine collection". Can't remember how to get it in this topic.

I found them. I see that Celery is the tan. I just pictured Queen Mother in a royal attire when I read her name. Love the names and very pretty machines.

Actually Celery has a very light tint of green in her. The Queen Mother got her name as we had a Featherweight club and when they seen her, she was the most pristine of all of them. I gave 25.00 for her and they all compaired theres to her. One of the girls even bought me a rhinestone pin that say "Queen Mother" it was kind of a joke.
