Aren't they just adorable? I really don't use mine much but love seeing it on display in our bedroom.

She's beautiful! I'm sorry about losing your Mom! I know what that's like, having lost both my parents within 4 months of each other! Just treasure your memories of the good times you spent together! I know both my parents are with the Lord, but I still miss them, and it's been 15 years +!
The decals are in wonderful condition! Jeanette |
Thanks everyone! My machine is dated 1951, which makes her older than me. :) I'd better obey her every wish since she is my "elder". She has the centennial badge too.

Congrats on getting your machine!

Congratulations on getting your Featherweight! It's a lovely machine. I hope I am lucky enough to have one some day too.

Beautiful machine. You can tell she was handled with loving care!

Congratulations!!! I use my Featherweight all the time.

She is beautiful. Have you made anything yet? FWs can't be beat for piecing--my absolute favorite of all the machines I have, when I am piecing, I'll go to one of my trusty FWs. That 1/4" seam just fits without using the extra foot or any other kind of calculation.

My Dottie [for my Mom] is a 1949. Some of the smell comes from the felt oil catcher. I bought a quarter yard of wool felt, and I could make at least 6. Just trace and replace.

all the cases smell as far as I've heard. I read here the other day it may stem from the bottom cover where oil has pooled over the years.
I set my case out in the hot sun, lid open, for 4 days I think it was. I followed the sun around the house like a chicken after a grasshopper :) I hope you love and use it! And the value of something is what you were willing to pay for it. So you did just right. |
