Gonna try again; Alden machine on Goodwill

We were outbid on the last two machines we went for and had just about decided to call it quits for a while.
Until ...... we saw this one: http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=9612816

Over 30 built in stitches, three position zig-zag needle, and a case with a drawer. That fascinates me no end. One of my plans for the future is to design and build my own machine cases. So I want this machine / case combo for the decorative stitches and the case.

Hopefully there won't be too many others who want it, cos we're going deep pockets on this one.

Charlee,

Thanks. We'll need it.

.................................................. .................................................. ..

This forum is driving me crazy.
When I posted this my computer just sat here doing nothing. The task bar kept telling me it was "connecting" or "waiting" for the forum. I had to hit my "RELOAD" key just to get it to post, only to find it had posted and been replied to.
My arrow keys will not work on THIS forum.
The ENTER button will send the cursor down the page but if it falls off the bottom the page will not move up unless I'm typing in text.

None of these things happen with any other forums I'm on. Something is screwy with this one. Could someone who knows an administrator please put a bug in their ear about this? Please?

Thanks.

It's very cute. Reminds me a little of one of the type 15 clones I have.

Joe, cute machine...all those knobs and dials look like a antique car dashboard! And the color too!

On your posting issue, go to the Help topic and type in your problem there. PatriceJ has said there are some things that are being "tweaked". nanamoms

nanamoms,

Thanks, I will.

Good looking machine - you'll feel like an pilot sitting in front of that one. When you take the faceplate off for cleaning, let me know how you put it back on straight. I still can't get the Universal's on correctly.

irishrose,

If by face plate you mean the cover on the left side I never take them off this type of machine. They are hinged and just pivot out of the way to clean and lube all the moving bits in there.

Pretty neat looking machine. Good luck. It would have a great home with you guys. Like the idea of a drawer too, but I couldn't see it. Did I miss it?

GEMRM,

The drawer is at the very bottom of the box in the large picture. There's two small blackish knobs on it.

I'm not sure how sewing with that machine will feel considering how much taller it sits than one in a normal case. But I do like the idea of the drawer. Most portables do not have enough storage space for all the widgets and gadgets you always seem to have for them.
