Help with info on this beautiful machine
Hi,
We’re in New York cleaning out my husband‘s grandparents home as it has just been sold. There’s a beautiful sewing machine that my husband remembers his grandmother using as a child. It’s a singer machine but it says “modern rebuilt singer machine” across the top and the brass plate and number plate have both been painted over so I’m assuming that’s part of the re-build. If anyone has any information on this, that would be very much appreciated. photos to follow.. for some reason I can’t upload in this post. |

It looks like some of the bobbins are not for this machine.
That is a rebuilt Singer model 66. A couple of threads about rebuilt machines are at https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...r-t235862.html and https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...s-t277707.html and there is a manual for rebuilt Singer machines at https://www.sil.si.edu/DigitalCollec...ch-results.cfm We like pictures. Thank you! I’ll work on doing that. We have to be out of this house on Wed so I’ll to my eyeballs in amazing furniture and knickknacks : )
I’m going to call a local sewing machine shop tom. I really wish we could bring it back to Fla with us. So sad to see it go.. |
